Hi Friends! Okay – a fun design challenge is upon us! I need to design a small bathroom for a client who has a rental property in another state. She needs it done YESTERDAY and the unit has a modern vibe. We are going to lean into modern organic and use neutral warm colors to add in some warmth and ensure it feels current yet classic. I have to pick all of my materials from Floor and Decor due to budget, timing and availability. Let’s go!
Here is our inspiration for the space.
I’d like a wood vanity for warmth and a classic, yet interesting, tile for the shower wall. The shower floor is tbd based on how the local construction is done. I’d like to keep the bathroom floor tile neutral, durable and easy to clean. After visiting my local Floor and Decor, I picked up some samples to get some inspo…(I did add a few items from my design library below to fill out the vision).
Based on what I found locally, and a few additions from the website, I put together a few options. Which is your favorite?
Vanity Option 1:
Vanity Option 2:
Now Shower Options:
A. Who doesn’t love Zellige? A fun square shape really showcases the irregular shapes and colors and bounces light around the room in such a lovely way!
B. How about a fun marble mosaic? This one has such pretty neutral colors and really picks up the wood tone of the vanity. This one is a tad pricier so it might not be a first choice for a rental property but it sure is pretty!
C. Again, a great Zellige in a classic shape. This one is in an “oat” color and is just so pretty in person. The shower pan is in a similar zellige penny tile.
D. This one is a fun switch up in a stacked Porcelain. It gives that fluted wood look that we all love!
E. And I had to throw in something moody! This deep inky blue is such a statement. I’m not sure if this fits the requirements but it’s fun to consider.
Full disclosure: I did try mocking up the ribbed tile and linen look tile and they are just so much prettier in person than they showed in the mock up so I left those out. But if you need tile on a budget, these are really great options.
So many options but we have to stay super flexible as it will depend on what we can get our hands on quickly and in the right quantity. Gotta love a challenge! I’d love to know what your favorites are! Tell me in the comments below!
